Les élèves de LLCER ont visité le Musée Du Jeu de Paume, et suivre une visite guidée de l’exposition photo de Margaret Cameron, pĥotographe anglaise du XIXe siècle.

Suite à cette visite, les élèves ont rédigé le texte ci-dessous :

During our school year, we made a lot of field trips.
Our favorite one is the one we made on January 9th 2024. We went to the "Musée du jeu de Paume" to see the exhibition on Margaret Cameron. In this museum, we had a guided visit by an American woman.
The visit was interesting to learn about the Victorian era and about how Margaret Cameron took photos and how they looked like and to understand the significance of photos for her.
The guide explained how the photos were taken during the 19th century : the photos were taken by a big camera with a black piece of cloth which didn’t let the light go through.
After the explanation, we related The Fall of the House of Usher to the pictures of by Margaret Cameron, because both can be connected with the Gothic style. Even if she didn’t make her pictures with the intention of being in the Gothic style, we can think that because of her soft focus technique. The soft focus is when the people who are captured move slightly when the picture is taken. That makes a fuzzy effect when the photo is developped.
